How long of a psychological treatment?
Thank you for the question that gives me the opportunity to clarify an important point, often considered the subject of confusion: the concept of "care" in psychology.
The term "treatment" refers jargon belonging more to medicine than to psychology. Usually we speak of "cure" when there is an illness, organ dysfunction, in psychology, and more specifically in the field of psychological problems, there is no disease to cure, there are only problems to be solved.
That said, I answer your question. The timing of a psychological intervention vary depending on the problem to be solved, the practice adopted by the professional and the type of customer response to therapy. In ordinary conditions, except for specific cases that require investigation and built ad hoc strategies, psychotherapy lasts an average of 10-15 sessions. I hope to have them answered.
